BIKE FIT

Seattle Bike Fit

I love helping people who want to ride their bike(s).  Often small changes make for a profound impact on positional comfort and improvement of riding tolerance.  Being able to ride your bike more comfortably and confidently means you are going to bike more.  I want to help you ride your bike more!

Everyone is unique in their cycling goals and bike fit needs. There is no one bike position for life either. My perspective in bike fitting is unique as I am able to blend my knowledge as a physical therapist, over 15 years of bike fitting experience, a decade of elite level cycling experience, and expertise in cycling biomechanics, skills and conditioning to optimize individualized cycling success for each rider (and each bike).

As a physical therapist, my approach to bike fitting is to go beyond the metrics of bike fit principles to work with you to establish a cycling position that is the best balance for your body, bike and cycling goals and experience.  I love the challenge of going beyond the bike fit to further address pedaling ergonomics, cycling conditioning optimization, as well as bike skills and handling aspects to prevent cycling overuse injuries.

Typical Bike Positioning Session Includes:  Each session starts with a conversation about your cycling history, cycling goals, cycling concerns related to bike position and your bike position session goals.  We will then go through a movement screen and capture bike position measurements.  From there, I will propose my bike position adjustment recommendations and provide education about how each adjustment will support improving your positional comfort and cycling goals.  I often incorporate my physical therapy expertise through practice of cycling-specific activities to address any flexibility, strength or coordination factors impacting your position and cycling tolerance.  At the end of the session, you will be provided measurements of your final bike position and receive a Superbill note containing all of the treatment codes needed to pursue out-of-network benefit / reimbursement with your medical insurance plan.
